Rumble Pond SWM

Rumble Pond was originally constructed as an on-line stormwater management facility to address quality control objectives. Since its construction, the pond had become ineffective due to sediment accumulation. The project was aimed at retrofitting the pond to restore and enhance its function to include stormwater quality improvement. The design converts Rumble Pond to an off-line pond, benefitting fish habitat in Patterson Creek. Innovative water quality enhancement techniques were integrated into the design, including phosphorous removal materials, a “Jellyfish” membrane filter and “Stormceptor” device. The pond incorporates an island, a pavilion and other amenities to position the pond as a key feature within the community.
