This one-acre parkette is the centrepiece of the Galleria, a mixed-use community located within the Thornhill neighborhood. The park is framed by three-storey townhouses and its materiality takes cues from the building architecture.
The design and program was arrived at as a function of a public engagement process. The neighborhood is comprised of a diverse demographic, which includes a sizeable Asian community, who desired for a largely passive, and predominantly green space. The focal point of the park is a pebble mosaic plaza space in the pattern of a lotus flower. The pavement helps to animate the park while also serving as a reiki walking circle.
