Peggy’s Wood

Peggy’s Wood is a sensitive forested Environmentally Significant Area (ESA) located in the Town of East Gwillimbury. This project was aimed at generating a management plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of the environment, including the recommendation of a trail system. The trail system is designed to control public access in order to mitigate impact on sensitive habitats within the woodland.  The trail system accommodates a range of passive recreational pursuits and provides fundamental connections to the adjacent communities. Implementation of Phase 1 of the trail system followed the preparation of the management plan.
