Schollen & Company Inc. was retained, along with TMIG and Geomorphix Ltd., by the City of Edmonton to complete the Alternative Stormwater Drainage Solution Study (ASDSS) for the Edmonton Energy and Technology Park (EETP). The EETP is a large greenfield development area that is planned for Eco-Industrial development and will be critical for long term economic growth and prosperity in the City of Edmonton. The scope of the ASDSS included the development and evaluation of a number of alternatives to manage storm runoff and safely convey flow from the proposed development site to the North Saskatchewan River. The alternatives under consideration included the adoption of Low Impact Development (LID) and other innovative Stormwater Management (SWM) practices to private developments, roadways and parks within the EETP.
The EETP encompasses 5,000 hectares and the preferred plan employs a system of LID integrated into a new network of naturalized corridors to achieve stormwater management objectives.
